Purpose

Energy in transit

An ampere does not measure how much electricity a thing holds. It measures how much moves through it. That distinction is the whole label.

01

What we make

Ampēre makes performance clothing for men who spend the day moving. The core is quiet and technical: sport-derived construction in an everyday shape. Four drops a year take that same construction and give it a theme.

Performance you can wear all day, in a shape you would have picked anyway.

02

Six pillars

Energy in motionEvery decision starts with movement. A piece that only works standing still does not ship.

Performance, wornWe sell performance, not sport. Technical where it matters, in a shape that reads as fashion.

Amsterdam is the measureThe city is the fit test. Bike, rain, tram, stairs, a bar at eleven. Survive that and it travels.

Two registers, one brandThe core stays quiet and holds the line. The drops carry the theme. Neither works alone.

Community before campaignThe people who wear it come first, and they are the campaign.

Built to be worn outA piece should read better in its third year. We design for wear, not for the first photograph.

03

Where it comes from

Ampēre started in Amsterdam in 2021. Aleks Kuijpers had spent a decade developing fabrics for fashion houses, and most of what he knew was reserved for womenswear. The brand began as a translation: bring those techniques into menswear, and keep them out of sight.

Randy Hoogeweegen brought the other half: years of experience in retail and marketing, and the store on De Clercqstraat.

Fabric and construction first, silhouette second, nothing on the outside explaining what is on the inside. Made mostly in Europe, in small runs.

Amsterdam is not a backdrop for this, it is the test. Wind off the water, cobbles, a tram to catch, four seasons before lunch.

Nothing here is finished. The core holds its line, the drops change four times a year. The current stays the same.
